Hello Guests!!!

We've already made a couple "reservations" for our guest suite. My dear friend Danielle, who is actually more like my sister, is coming to visit in March. I started babysitting Dani when she was two....no, that does not make me feel old....ya, right! She is now a graduate student studying Speech-Language Pathology. I'm so proud of her, and I CAN NOT wait for her to get here! Our other guest will hopefully be coming next fall....Ramiro's Uncle Phil. I love, love, love him and can't wait to see him either. I've attached some pictures to give them (and other guests) an idea of where they'll be laying their heads while they're here. The guest room is upstairs, and the ONLY room upstairs, so they'll have total privacy. There's a full bathroom and a beautiful view of the mountains too! Rome currently uses the guest room to store his clothes, and he also claims that bathroom as his own. He'll give it all up for our guests of course. :)

Marble stairs leading to the guest suite...Italians don't mess around!

Chloe Girl

We've been told that Chloe has been left out of the pictures we've posted thus far, and we certainly do not want to neglect our baby girl! Here she is....alive and well. :)
(This is for you Grandpa Rosas....we know you miss the grand kids!)

House Pics....

I was finally able to upload pictures to an entry I wrote last week. Even though it technically posted today, 18 September, it positioned itself in the blog by the date it was originally saved....make sense? Scroll down a little bit to see pictures of the house. :)

What the heck???

It's unbelievable to me that with today's technology I am STILL unable to upload pictures. We are having major problems with our internet. Rome is collaborating with our provider, but it's not getting fixed fast enough for me! There's that American mentality....I want it done, and I want it done now! In the meantime, I feel like throwing this computer out of the window at least 5x a day! I do have pictures waiting to be posted....hopefully we'll be up and running very soon....hopefully. :)

Almost There

I think we're almost there. Minus the office, we have the entire house put together. I wish more than anything that we could paint the walls....you know I love color! I suppose white will have to do. :( Here are a few pics of the finished product....

Kelley, this pic is for you. :) Yes, we brought the "coop", and thank goodness we did! Storage is always an issue here, and the coop is working beautifully as our pantry.

Uploading Issues

Ok, we're having technical difficulties with our uploading capabilities. One day we can upload pictures to the blog....the next day we can't. Is there a special program we need to download? Do our fellow bloggers out there have any suggestions???

Moving Day.....

So our household goods finally arrived on Thursday. Three movers accompanied our belongings, only one speaking English. However, with the little Italian I've picked up and the Spanish that Ramiro knows, we communicated pretty well. We had 11 crates all together....10,500 lbs....yikes! They arrived at 0900 and finished up around 1800. Poor guys, they worked their tails off. Needless to say, when you're looking at 10,500 lbs of household goods, an overwhelming feeling starts to set in. Take a look...

Packaging that devoured not only our driveway, but our neighbors as well....

Rome getting chummy with Mario, one of our movers....

Mattresses waiting to be moved in....I think I dropped a tear when I saw our mattress!

I took this picture too soon....we had floor to ceiling boxes before the end of the day.

We worked 12 hours yesterday unpacking boxes and putting together the kitchen. Boxes and kitchen....that was my goal and we weren't sleeping until it was done. Today we tackled the living rooms, hanging pictures, and nick-nacs....only 9 hours. We still have the bedrooms and office. I'll send pics of the finished product soon. :)
