The Rain Is Gone...

We've had rain for five days straight, so I was thrilled to wake up this morning to a blue sky and lots of sunshine! The rain sure is a downer for outdoor activities, but it does wonders for plants and flowers. My hydrangeas and petunias are blooming beautifully!

Spring is a time for new growth and possibilities...I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. :)

Springtime....yeah!!!

As most of you probably know, I love springtime. Yes, the weather is beautiful, but I mainly love it because I get to start planting flowers and mowing the lawn. Yes, that's right...I LOVE lawn work. I love mowing perfect rows and edging perfect lines. My husband says it's my OCD...I say it's immaculate lawn keeping skills. :)

Anyway, we bought our flowers yesterday. We spent over two hours at the nursery...I just can not get enough of that place. It takes time to visualize your lawn and then pick out the perfect combination of plants/flowers. You're going to be looking at your choices for practically three seasons, so they are definitely not something you want to randomly pick and choose. It takes some thought and organization...just ask my husband. :)

Keep in mind that we arrived too late in the season last year to plant anything. I've waited 8 months to bring the outside of our house alive...it really does make me happy. Everything is in its beginning stages right now. Give it a month or two and things will really start looking lush and beautiful. Yeah...spring is here!
