Kyndall's 1st Christmas!!!

Merry CHRISTmas to our family and friends...near and far!!!

She wasn't quite sure what to do, but she was definitely interested.

You can see her two new teeth in this one.

Close up...so you can see them better. :)

Kyndall and her new pal, Santa. :)

Ok, ok, ok....I'm SO slacking on the blog...I know! It's been crazy busy, and Kyndall's a busy little girl! Here's a few pics from Mom and Dad's recent visit. It was so nice having them here, and of course there's never enough time. Kyndall LOVES her Grammy and Gramps!

Gramps is definitely the "Baby Whisperer"...seriously! And BTW, this really is how Kyndall sleeps...she puts her hands behind her head like an old man on a hammock...so cute. :)

Squadron Halloween picnic.

Wine tasting...

...Grammy lovin' every last drop of her wine...lol.

Good times! :)

On our way to Venice.

Boat ride to Murano Island, where Murano glass is made.

Watching pieces being made at one of the local factories.

There were rooms full of these fantastic peices of art...ranging from 1500 euro to 500,000 euro...yikes! Aunt Gin, you would have loved this place!

6 Months....OH, MY!!!!

Seriously??? Six months already? I make it a point to stop and look at Kyndall's sweet little face each and every day....to soak it all in. Otherwise, I blink and she's a month older! She continues to be the sweetest and most happy baby....so fun. Here's the latest and greatest:

  • We've started solid foods, and so far she likes everything. She's really shown an interest in eating and has diligently been watching Rome and I eat for awhile now. So she was a natural when we introduced the solids. It's like she's been taking mental notes....lol. Opened her mouth for bites from day 1...so cute. I'm making her food at home with all fresh and/or frozen organic veggies and fruits. (It's incredibly easy and surprisingly cheaper.) So far we've had: rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, green beans, and peas. Carrots are next!
  • Takes 6 oz of formula at each feeding.
  • She rolls from tummy to back, but really shows no interest in rolling from back to tummy and doesn't do it very often. She rolls to her side and stays there. But she'll scoot around in circles and uses her heals to push herself forward....geez!
  • While on her tummy, she crosses her little ankles to get up on her knees. She hasn't figured out this could possibly take her places, so she doesn't stay in that position long.
  • She sits independently while leaning forward on her hands...not a huge fan of this either.
  • She LOVES to stand, and prefers this to anything.
  • Grabs objects with both hands and transfers them from hand to hand.
  • Knows strangers from familiar faces, and will absolutely let you know if she's not cool with a new face...lol.
  • She sleeps 10-12 hours every night. She weaned herself off of her 2am feeding....sleeps straight through now.
  • She's starting to notice the dogs, and she tries to pet them if they're within reach. (Yep, we're already talking about "soft" touch...lol.)
  • She continues to love her books. She'll hold the cover with one hand and pat the pages with the other.
  • Babbles, squeals, and vocalizes all day long.

I guess that's it for now. Here's a few recent pics and her 6 month Well Baby stats. Ciao!

  • Weight: 14.7 lbs (37%tile)
  • Length: 25.7 in (67%tile)
  • Head Circumference: 42.5 cm (63%tile)

After her bath...she still has her "party up on top"....haha.

First time eating solids.

I know it's been awhile....here's a few pics from recent days.

Kyndall's first day at CDC (Child Development Center). My emotions were torn...happy for Kyndall to be with her new friends, but so sad to not have her with me. She'll only be in the infant room for two more months, and then she'll move to the young toddler room...ages 6-12 months. I have to admit, the little toddlers crawling/walking around socializing with each other is so stinkin' cute. I know it's good for Kyndall...just hard on Mommy. As far as Daddy goes, he acted all tough, but he's the one who went on his lunch hour to "hang" with her....lol. Already a Daddy's girl. ;-)

I stood in the lobby and watched Kyndall on this monitor for at least 15 minutes...it was so hard to walk away. :( Do you see her??? She's right in the middle toward the bottom...on her belly w/ the bow in her hair. (((insert sigh)))
